Short Description:
The design workshop aims to introduce the students to the general principles of design and enable them to effectively convey the scientific message in a wide variety of projects (presentations, posters and more). The workshop is specifically tailored to address the scientists’ needs.Â
The workshop consists of five weekly meetings, each two hours long. The subjects discussed include how the audience absorbs visual information, the role and function of visual basics, colour and composition, typographical hierarchy, working with graphics and images and more.
The workshop takes place at the ETH Zurich and D-USYS
Prerequisites:
No prior knowledge of design is required. The students are requested to send some existing body of work (presentations, posters, graphics), which will be briefly discussed during the first session.
